TIND Locations
The TIND ILS uses "Locations" to indicate where an item can normally be found, and "Location exceptions" to indicate where it's currently located if/when it's temporarily moved from its normal location (e.g., because it's on the Seminar Reserve shelf).
Locations also serve behind-the-scenes to associate loan policies with different materials. For example, anything with a location code that begins "OS" (for "Open Stacks") automatically gets "Circulating" as a Loan rule.

Currently, staff can also see the "Pre-2020 location" of items. This information will eventually be removed from view.
"TBD" (for "To be determined") in a location name means that the item's normal location has not yet been assigned, but a best-guess was made based on the pre-2020 location.
