Mazarinades cataloging project

Beginning in September 2016, Mazarinades in the Folger collection that were previously only noted by check-marking the Acquisitions Office copies of the standard bibliographies are being cataloged in Hamnet as part of an intern project. We are starting at call number DC124 .M831 Cage because single pamphlets with Moreau numbers up to and including 830 have been listed in a separate FileMaker Pro database, making them lower priority for electronic description.

Voyager instructions

• Find and open the bib record
• Add a new 585 field in numeric order by MARC field; when an item requires multiple 585 fields, they are added in descending order, with the earliest exhibition in the first 585 (and the most recent exhibition in the last 585)
• Create a MARC field by putting the cursor in the field immediately above where the new field should go and pressing the F4 key (shortcut for "insert blank field below").
• Create a new subfield by pressing the F9 key then the number or letter of the subfield; the system automatically inserts the space after it.)

Special circumstances

• If the item has an exhibition history slip, make a MARC 585 Exhibitions Note.
