Recent entries use the wording established in Standard Citation Forms for Rare Materials Cataloging developed and maintained by the Bibliographic Standards Committee of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association.
Many older entries retain the very brief wording established in Standard Citation Forms for Published Bibliographies and Catalogs Used in Rare Book Cataloging. These are gradually being replaced.
In general, entries follow this pattern: Surname, Initial(s). Title excluding initial articles, entry-number

Notes
- ↑ Note that the new Hamnet form for STC and ESTC is non-standard in order to be able to continue using the initialisms "STC" and "ESTC" when searching. The official form omits the parenthetical initialisms shown here.
