Talk:List of cataloging articles
Title of article and sections
I propose that we rename this page "List of cataloging pages". It may be useful at present to keep a distinction between migrated pages and new articles. Eventually, a category for "Cataloging" would make this list redundant, wouldn't it? --Deborah J. Leslie (talk) 16:22, 2 September 2014 (EDT)
Questions and issues
- Not enough visual distinction between the sections with level 2 headings or lower. Add horizontal lines? Bold? --Deborah J. Leslie 18:02, 18 March 2014 (EDT)
- Flatten hierarchy. For example, I removed the level called "Loose items" in Things in books, and moved the subsections from h3 to h2 --Deborah J. Leslie 18:02, 18 March 2014 (EDT)
- Not sure category for "Resolution needed" is useful. Resolutions could be made the next time the policy is needed. Alternative: put Resolve or Confirm with the dubious text --Deborah J. Leslie 18:02, 18 March 2014 (EDT)
Create a heading for each issue on the talk page, and add a link to the main page with a "Needs discussion" --Deborah J. Leslie 18:02, 18 March 2014 (EDT)
Notices and warnings
- "Needs discussion" to insert in the page text with link to talk page section. Q: Are there mediawiki standard notices? --Deborah J. Leslie 12:23, 19 March 2014 (EDT)
- Critical warning at top of page to indicate serious deficiency with content --Deborah J. Leslie 12:25, 19 March 2014 (EDT)
- Moderate warning at top of page to indicate need for review before using --Deborah J. Leslie 12:25, 19 March 2014 (EDT)
- Mild warning at top to suggest editing of contents would be in order --Deborah J. Leslie 12:25, 19 March 2014 (EDT)
Terminology
- Shall we use "article" or "page" when talking about Folgerpedia articles/pages? --Deborah J. Leslie 11:17, 22 March 2014 (EDT)
- I vote for "article." "Pages" are part of the MediaWiki editing architecture? --Deborah J. Leslie 17:44, 1 April 2014 (EDT)
- "Shelfmark" or "call number"? --Deborah J. Leslie 17:44, 1 April 2014 (EDT)
- Call number --Deborah J. Leslie 11:13, 3 April 2014 (EDT)
