In 2016, the Folger began donating images and metadata to Wikimedia, beginning with map images from STC 18855.

Metadata Policies

• Only one date field is available in Wikimedia Commons.
  • For maps in atlases and illustrations in books, use the bibliographic date rather than the image date.
  • For prints and letters bound into extra illustrated volumes, use the date of the bound-in item rather than the date from the bibliographic record.
