Talk:Huth library

Original text about the bookplates read: "'EX. MVSAEO. HVTHII' leather bookplates were added for the Huth Library sales in the early 20th century." Following up on a researcher query about when and by whom the bookplates were placed, it was determined that the only evidence is an unsupported statement by Stephen Parks in "The Elizabethan Club of Yale University and Its Library" (Yale UP, 1986), p. 20. While the assertion is not conclusively disproved, both positive and negative evidence support the probability that Alfred L. Huth had the bookplates made and placed before his death.
