HBCN

Moderate. The Folgerpedia HBCN's need to be worked out. --Deborah J. Leslie 15:43, 20 March 2014 (EDT)

Terminology

We probably shouldn't name this page "HBCNs," although the term (certainly) and its explanation (probably) should be included. Q: After the title, should they be referred in the text as "Advisory statements" or "HBCNs." I've chosen the latter for now ... --Deborah J. Leslie 16:19, 20 March 2014 (EDT)

Wording of Folgerpedia HBCNs

There seems to be in the ether a fairly standard array of language strength in introducing advisory or precautionary statements. See, for example, Precautionary statement

  • warning
  • caution
  • notice (or note)

MediaWiki probably has standard language we can build on --Deborah J. Leslie 16:55, 20 March 2014 (EDT)

I created two templates using MediaWiki "Message boxes" as a model. The colors still need to be tweaked, and the text itself can always be changed. Both have the MediaWiki "Information" icon.
  • "Draft" displays "This article is currently a draft" in the message box
  • "Legacy" displays "This article contains text copied from legacy files and may or may not reflect current information" in the message box.--Erin Blake (talk) 23:42, 22 March 2014 (EDT)
