Standup Shakespeare (Folger Theatre, 1994)

Folger Theatre and Alabama Shakespeare Festival co-produced Standup Shakespeare, book by Kenneth Welsh and music by Ray Leslee, from March 18 to April 2, 1994. This production took place in the Folger's Elizabethan Theatre.


The Production

This was the regional premiere for Standup Shakespeare and featured David Margulies as the lead, Thomas Young, a soloist with the Metropolitan Opera, and Alison Fraser, a Tony nominee.

Entertainment unions represented in Folger Theatre productions include The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (**) and the Actors' Equity Association (*), which includes members of the Union of Professional Actors and Stage Managers.
