Sharon Olds.

Olds' “attention to line…superbly focused detail,” and material which “strikes, shines [and] deepens” (Times Literary Supplement), have made her a major presence in American poetry. “The experience for the reader is both searing and exhilarating, making possible recognitions, connections, comforts and admissions that are rarely available to us in so vivid and unambiguous a form” (Mirabella). Winner of the 1985 National Book Critics Circle Award, Olds’s most recent collection is The Father.
