Julia Reinhard Lupton, a former fellow of both the Guggenheim Foundation and the American Council of Learned Societies, is Professor of English at the University of California, Irvine, where she serves as Faculty Director of Illuminations: The Chancellor's Arts and Culture Initiative. Her most recent book is Shakespeare Dwelling: Designs for the Theater of Life (2018). She is also the author of Thinking with Shakespeare: Essays on Politics and Life (2011), and co-authored Design Your Life: The Pleasures and Perils of Everyday Things (2009), with Ellen Lupton.
