Rosmarie Waldrop

Rosmarie Waldrop is an innovative poet whose work captures the movement of the body and mind. Unafraid to carve up the English language in her tension-filled poems, Waldrop often breaks syntax, sentences, and lines to dismantle language and reveal its transcendent qualities.

The author of several books of poetry, including Blindsight, Relunctant Gravities, and The Reproduction of Profiles, Waldrop is also well known for her work as a translator and the co-owner of Burning Deck Press. Ms Waldrop has won various fellowships, the Columbia Translation Center Award, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.

Visit her Poetry Foundation page for more information.

Meisha Bosma and Bosmadance

Meisha Bosma and Bosmadance choreographed and performed Violet in My Winter, a piece inspired by the life and writings of Emily Dickinson. As Dickinson’s work is built on themes of nature and humanity, Violet in My Winter is a physical and emotional response to life and love. BosmaDance is a contemporary dance company based in Northern Virginia and has won five Metro DC Dance Awards.
