Rosmarie Waldrop

Rosemarie Waldrop.

Rosmarie Waldrop read for the O.B. Hardison Poetry Series on December 17, 2005 for the Emily Dickinson Birthday Tribute.

Waldrop is an innovative poet whose work captures the movement of the body and mind. Unafraid to carve up the English language in her tension-filled poems, Waldrop often breaks syntax, sentences, and lines to dismantle language and reveal its transcendent qualities.

The author of several books of poetry, including Blindsight, Relunctant Gravities, and The Reproduction of Profiles, Waldrop is also well known for her work as a translator and the co-owner of Burning Deck Press. Ms Waldrop has won various fellowships, the Columbia Translation Center Award, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
