Rachel Hadas read for the O.B. Hardison Poetry Series on October 23, 2000.

“Rachel Hadas has clearly made significant contributions to poetry and to charging poetry with social responsibility,” says Carl Philips, one of the judges for the 2000 Hardison Prize. Indeed, this classicist and poet, author of a dozen books of poetry, essays, and translations, forged links between communities as the editor of the groundbreaking anthology Unending Dialogue: Voices from an AIDS Poetry Workshop. A professor at Rutgers University, Hadas has received a Guggenheim Fellowship and an award in literature from the American Academy/Institute of Arts and Letters.
