This event happened on September 26 at 6:30pm in the Folger's Elizabethan Theatre.

Stanley Crouch, David Anthony Durham, David Gates, Shirley Hazzard, Jane Hitchcock, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, Tayari Jones, Ha Jin, Maxine Hong Kingston, Richard McCann, Rick Moody, James Salter, Scott Simon, Elizabeth Swados, and Hilma Wolitzer lend their imagination to the theme, “Lost and Found,” at a gala benefit evening of readings, followed by a black-tie dinner in the Great Hall. Roger Mudd was Master of Ceremonies. The proceeds from this festive evening supported the endowment of the PEN/Faulkner Awards and PEN/Faulkner’s Writers in Schools program. Underwriting for “Lost and Found” is by Ford Motor Company. In further support of Writers in Schools, Ford underwrote a day of teaching visits to Washington’s public high schools by the participating authors.
