On Monday January 18, 2021 poets [https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/camonghne-felix Camonghne Felix], [https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/julian-randall Julian Randall], and [https://josephrossnet.wordpress.com/ Joseph Ross] were joined by actors [http://www.sarabarker.com/ Sara Barker], [https://www.folger.edu/cast/fatima-quander Fatima Quander], and [https://www.backstage.com/u/jamesjjohnson/ James Johnson] for our annual celebration of the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event featured contemporary poetry alongside historical speeches from Dr. King, Gandhi, Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, James Baldwin, and others.
