On January 15, 2007 at 2:00pm, the O.B. Hardison Poetry Series celebrated the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a combined program of dramatic readings of speeches, poetry, and an open-mic session. The event was held at the The Haskell Center for Education and Public Programs. The Folger also collected donations of elementary to middle school books to benefit the Capitol Hill School Libraries Project.
