Biography

Julia Fine is currently a James Beard National Scholar, writing about food, ecology, and labor in the Indian Ocean world. She holds an A.B. from Harvard University in History & Literature, and an M.Phil from University of Cambridge in Modern South Asian Studies. From 2019-2020 she served as the Dumbarton Oaks Humanities project on Before 'Farm to Table': Early Modern Foodways and Cultures project at the Folger Institute.
