Folger Tea, or simply "Tea," is a long-standing tradition at the Folger Shakespeare Library.

While readers are no longer served by white-gloved attendants from silver urns, they are cordially invited to join with staff and other readers, fellows, and program participants from 3:00 to 3:30 each weekday when the Folger is open.

Readers are encouraged to discuss their recent discoveries, research challenges, common interests, and mutual friends in a casual setting over cookies and coffee or tea. A remarkable number of projects have been advanced through informal teatime discussions, and long-time readers consider it an essential foundation of the Folger scholarly community.

The Folger Tearoom is located on the basement level and is accessible via a stairwell or elevator. Ask Folger staff for directions or simply follow the crowd at 3:00 pm.
