Jong’s works of poetry include Fruits & Vegetables and Half-Lives. She is also the author of eight novels, including the well-known Fear of Flying. She writes, "What I have fought for in my life and in my books—irony,…the integration of body and brain, sensuality and spirituality, honeyed voluptuousness and philosophical rigor—these are the things most endangered today."
