Charles Wright

Charles Wright’s poems exalt in language that is reverent and in sumptuous awe of the world. He received the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for his 1997 collection, Black Zodiac. His most recent collection, Scar Tissue, was the international winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize. Wright's other books include Buffalo Yoga, Negative Blue, and Appalachia. Wright is Souder Family Professor of English at the University of Virginia.
