Edward P. Jones & Dinaw Mengetsu (2008)

Edward P. Jones won the 2007 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction for All Aunt Hagar’s Children. He is the author of The Known World, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, and the short-story collection Lost in the City, a finalist for the National Book Award. Jones lives in Washington, DC.
Dinaw Mengestu immigrated to the U.S. during the communist revolution in Ethiopia. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and of Columbia University’s MFA program in fiction. He is the recipient of a 2006 fellowship in fiction from the New York Foundation for the Arts. He has also recently reported stories for Jane, profiling a young woman who was kidnapped and forced to become a soldier in the brutal war in Uganda, and for Rolling Stone on the tragedy in Darfur. He lives in New York City.
