On Thursday, August 16 and Thursday, August 23, 2018, as part of the Talks and Screenings at the Folger, the Folger co-hosted a special outdoor screening series entitled Bard in the Park alongside the Capitol BID at Yards Park in Washington, DC.
The two organizations teamed up to screen two of Hollywood's takes on Shakespeare's plays for a free series of outdoor films. The two films shown were The Lion King (1994) and Kiss Me Kate (1953).
Audiences were invited bring a picnic, all movies were captioned.
