The Folger Theatre presented their production of Mad About the Bard, conceived by Floyd King and Ethan McSweeney from May 13 to May 31, 1998. Floyd King was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award in the "Outstanding Lead Actor, Residential Musical," and George Fulginiti-Shakar was nominated for "Outstanding Musical Direction, Residential Play or Musical." Janet Alexander Griffin was the Folger Director of Museum and Public Programs.
