en-dash and hyphens
Wikipedia MoS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Dashes says to use en-dashes in dates. I would like to see us use hyphens; en- and em-dashes wreak havoc in MARC records. Deborah J. Leslie 13:40, 14 March 2014 (EDT)
- Because MARC uses the hyphen and double-hyphen to represent dashes, that's what should be used when writing out MARC. --Erin Blake (talk) 15:59, 6 May 2014 (EDT)

Wikipedia articles are supposed to have a neutral point of view, but what about use of "we," especially when writing about ourselves? --Deborah J. Leslie 17:00, 19 March 2014 (EDT)
- Prefer "Folger" or "the Folger" to avoid any misunderstanding that the person who last edited the article is using the Royal We, but writing about the Folger and Folger policy falls into the same category as when Wikipedia is writing about itself (so to speak) in the "Wikipedia" namespace or the "Help" namespace. Do, however, maintain a neutral point of view when it comes to opinions of current or past practice. It wouldn't be appropriate, for instance, to write "to make up for some really stupid decisions that were made in the past, current procedure is...." --Erin Blake (talk) 16:58, 6 May 2014 (EDT)
