This is one of a series of articles which describes a template that will allow for consistent and easy article creation on Folgerpedia.
This template is for articles on pedagogical methods related to specific topics. This is your space to gather teaching resources, pedagogical background, and links to useful assignments.
Click the "piece of paper symbol" in the upper right of your screen. Under "edit source," copy the code below the line (<hr/>) into the "creating" page to get a head-start on creating an article for a collections item. We highly recommend a descriptive title that begins "Teaching ...", i.e. "Teaching English sonnets" or "Teaching Tudor London."
If one subsection is particularly important and/or lengthy, it is worthwhile to bump it up from Subheader 1 to Header level. You may not need all the sections listed below, they are simply suggestions. As always, sections can be added or deleted to suit the specific topic, or left blank to be filled in at a later time (or by someone else!).
You can save a DRAFT of your article by putting {{draft}} as the first word in the article (with the curly brackets).
Examples:
Teaching critical digital literacy
Brief paragraph defining the topic or skill to be acquired.
Header describing background of topic
This section is particularly useful for topics which have a fraught history of classroom representation, or which need further definition. Sections may be added which explain the relevance of a broader pedagogical topic to the Folger's collection.
Pedagogical setting for /Topic/
Is this topic typically encountered in K-12 classrooms? College level? Specialized settings? Does the setting affect how it is taught?
Teaching resources and exercises
