Folger Consort performed When Notre Dame was New on January 7 and January 8, 2005 at the Washington National Cathedral. For the program, the Consort joined forces with the famed Norwegian vocal ensemble Trio Mediaeval to celebrate the Parisian avant-garde that flourished when High Gothic cathedrals were new and when the principles of Western music were being established by composers such as Leonin and Perotin.
