Special characters such as symbols, accented letters, and superscripts, are entered differently depending on whether you're using the OCLC Connexion Client or a web-based interface like TIND.

Connexion Client

In the Connexion Client, you can use use OCLC keyboard shortcuts, or the client graphical chart (Edit > Enter Diacritics, or click the "Enter Diacritics" button, or press Ctrl+e). See Insert diacritics and characters in records for details.

Other interfaces

Web-based tools (e.g., TIND and ArchivesSpace) plus most Microsoft applications accept copy-and-pasted Unicode characters from the lists below. On Microsoft operating systems you can also use ALT Codes by holding down the Alt key and using the numeric numeric keypad (e.g. Alt+0233 for é).
