Addition

Used for intralineally inserted text, often written above crossed out text.

Catchword

Used for catchwords in the text.

Deletion

Used for text that has been cancelled or crossed out. Illegible letters can be replaced by periods.

Used for abbreviated text. Place the tags only around the expanded characters, not around the entire word.

Gap

Used for obvious headings. For multi-line headings, enter the heading on a single line, with a lb tag to indicate the line break
