Policy and formulation
- Use both the modern form of the country (e.g. "Italy") and the form of the name identified with the person, if different (for example: "Venice (Republic : to 1797)")
- Give place of residence in ǂe and country in ǂc even if the country is already named in the ǂe, for example: ǂc France ǂe Paris (France).
- Include both Great Britain and England (or Scotland or Wales) in ǂc. Do not include states, provinces, or territories of the US, Canada, or Australia in ǂc.
