An English Garden: Music from the Age of Shakespeare (2017)
(Redirected from An english garden)
Folger Consort performed An English Garden: Music from the Age of Shakespeare from September 22 to September 24, 2017 in the Folger's Elizabethan Theatre.
As the arts and culture flourished in Shakespeare’s England, musical life blossomed as well. Popular ballads and art songs from the theatre—some associated with Shakespeare and his company and some from later works from the stage—are paired in a concert with lively instrumental pieces, fit for nobles and groundlings alike. With fiddles, viol, lute, cittern, winds, and soprano Emily Noël and tenor Mark Bleeke.
